Yamila's Koalas

A friend of mine had the idea to have a tattoo with a friend of hers, that is very important to them both, and the koalas signify them.
It has great meaning to them.
So i found a great photo online of two koalas hugging, made a line drawing for the tattoo, but decided because of the deep meaning behind this (there is more heavy meaning behind it, but that is personal), i decided that she also "needed" to have a nice art piece for on the wall.
So i started on this, made with PanPastel first, to get the shapes and colors right, then also used Derwent Pastel Pencils mostly for the fur and ear tufts to get the right looks, since that can be hard with PanPastel.
Did use some fineliners and white gel pen for the eyes.
This was my first try on an animal and using those two pastel mediums together, and i am extremely happy with the result.
